Bury Grammar School is looking to appoint an inspiring, well-qualified Teacher of Business to join our successful and supportive faculty from September 2026, on a full-time permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners. We are looking for somebody who is passionate and committed to maintaining the high academic standards Bury Grammar School is known for through the delivery of high-quality Business teaching. Teaching a second relevant subject alongside Business e.g. Computer Science, Economics… may also be a possibility for the right candidate.

The Department

Business is a popular and thriving subject at both GCSE and A Level at Bury Grammar School, with consistently excellent examination results. Many students go on to study Business-related degrees at prestigious universities, while others secure places on ambitious and competitive apprenticeship schemes. The department benefits from strong student uptake, high levels of engagement, and a clear focus on progression and success beyond school.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Teach Business at GCSE and A Level, delivering engaging, well-planned lessons that inspires and challenges pupils.

Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, ensuring high standards of learning and achievement.

Contribute positively to curriculum development within the department.

Support pupils’ academic progress and wider personal development.

· Play an active role in the wider life of Bury Grammar School, including extracurricular provision.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

Holds a relevant honours degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Has strong subject knowledge in Business and a clear ability to teach Business up to A level.

Is reflective, well-organised, and committed to continuous professional development.

Can establish positive and supportive classroom working relationships, including how to motivate and enthuse students.

Has strong organisational skills, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
