Bury Grammar School is seeking to appoint an inspiring, committed and enthusiastic Teacher of History and Politics on a permanent basis from September 2026.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, passionate about their subjects, and committed to fostering curiosity, academic rigour and a love of learning across all year groups. They will be expected to contribute fully to the academic and pastoral life of the school and to play an active role within the Humanities Faculty.

The Humanities Faculty

The Humanities Faculty at Bury Grammar School is a thriving team of fifteen members of staff, comprising the Geography, History, Politics and Religious Studies departments.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3–5.
  • The ability/willingness to teach Politics at A level would also be highly desirable.
  • Deliver engaging, challenging and well‑structured lessons.
  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum development within the department and faculty.
  • Play an active role in the co‑curricular life of the school.
  • Support the aims, ethos and values of Bury Grammar School.
