Chetham’s School of Music is seeking 2 new Residential House Assistants to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English-speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

The job

We are looking for 2 new House Assistants to join the boarding section of the pastoral team to assist with the day-to-day care and boarding routines of the students. The role could involve working with our senior students aged 14-18 or our junior students aged 8-13.

The working week will be around 35- 40 hours divided into day or evening shifts, including some work at the weekend.

The role is residential role, and accommodation is available all year round.

The role is expected to commence in full from September 2026, but with the option of an extra week’s work in early August, subject to required clearance checks.

In return

You will be paid £12.71 per hour for weekday hours and £14.91 per hour for any weekend work.
