We have vacancies for House Parents for two of our 16 boarding houses (one boy’s house and one girl’s house). The houses run from Year 7 through to Year 12 and are home to around fifty students.

We have vacancies for House Parents for two of our 16 boarding houses (one boy’s house and one girl’s house). The houses run from Year 7 through to Year 12 and is home to around fifty students. Boarding is at the heart of Christ’s Hospital life and the positive transformation that we can achieve with our students is as a direct result of the outstanding pastoral care we provide. We expect our House Parents to teach at the school and we want applicants to have a relevant teaching qualification and the ability to offer a subject taught at the school to at least GCSE level. Innovation, flair, and vision are highly valued, as is the ability to inspire pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Applicants should evidence in the personal statement how they meet the requirements of the role and person specification. Salary is commensurate with experience and paid in accordance with the Christ’s Hospital teachers’ salary scale up to £46,324 per annum. House parents receive an additional allowance (on an increasing scale) up to £20,000 per annum. Accommodation is provided and gas, electric, water rates and Council Tax are covered by the School. House Parents have a substantial remission from teaching and are expected to play a full part in the broader life of this busy boarding community.
