CLSG456 Head of Classics or Teacher of Classics
We are currently seeking to fill the position of CLSG456 Head of Classics or Teacher of Classics at City of London School for Girls.
This is an exciting position for a dedicated and inspirational head of Classics who aspires to lead a key department in a top independent school. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, well qualified and highly committed graduate with a proven track record of teaching Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation.

The head of Classics will lead the strong culture of excellent and innovative education in the field at our school, building on our outstanding practices and fostering initiative and commitment from all staff and students involved in the wider Classics provision. They will lead with enthusiasm, effectively communicating their passion for the subject across the school community. The successful candidate will establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, and students, promoting and upholding high standards in the teaching and learning of Classics. This will be achieved in part through working closely with our SEND and T&L departments to promote quality first teaching for all students and foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feelrecognised, valued and represented.
Additionally, the head of Classics postholder will be expected to enhance the departments commitment to collaboration and the exchange of best practices with our partner schools in the City of London. They will work closely with colleagues in the City of London School with whom joint teaching in some A level groups is encouraged.
Encouraging lesson observations as part of continuous improvement, the head of Classics will actively contribute to the development of the entire school community in alignment with the schools overarching goals and mission.
