Director of Studies – Provide strategic leadership of the College’s academic programme, overseeing curriculum, reporting and departmental review to ensure high standards, strong pupil progress, and excellent examination outcomes across the Senior School.

We are seeking a Director of Studies to provide strategic leadership of the College’s academic programme. This senior role shapes the Senior School’s academic life, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and public examination outcomes.

The Director of Studies leads curriculum design, academic reporting and departmental review, ensuring provision is coherent, rigorous and aligned with the College’s educational aims. They safeguard academic standards, foster a data-informed, accountable culture, and act decisively to secure strong pupil progress and attainment.

Key responsibilities include leading curriculum design, delivery and review; overseeing curriculum resources, including booklets and options materials; managing academic reporting and supporting Parents’ Evenings; leading departmental review cycles and monitoring progress against recommendations; line-managing Heads of Department; contributing to staff recruitment, induction and CPD; overseeing the daily cover rota; and working closely with the Deputy Head Academic, acting as deputy when required. The Director of Studies is a member of SMT, ELT and CAPCOM and attends Education Committee meetings with the Governing Body.

The successful candidate will be a senior leader with a proven record of securing high academic standards and examination success, combining meticulous attention to detail, strategic judgement, and the confidence to drive improvement across the College.
