Library Assistant
Are you passionate about books and supporting young learners? We are looking for a friendly and organised Library Assistant to manage and supervise our Junior School library throughout the school day.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Assistant to join our Junior School team. This is a key role in maintaining the smooth running of the school library and supporting pupils in their reading and learning journey. The successful candidate will ensure the library is covered throughout the school day, handling the issuing, returning and reserving of books while resolving any issues that arise. A strong focus will be placed on creating and maintaining a calm, purposeful atmosphere, particularly during breaktimes and helping pupils choose appropriate reading material that supports their development and interests.
In addition to core responsibilities, the Library Assistant will oversee the library’s stationery supplies, help to create attractive and engaging displays, and support the supervision and training of pupil librarians. Regular monitoring of stock condition and carrying out basic repairs will also form part of the role. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring pupils uphold the library’s rules and maintain appropriate behaviour at all times.
We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in children’s literature, a keen eye for organisation, and a calm, approachable manner. If you are passionate about fostering a love of reading and creating a welcoming, well-ordered library environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
