Applications are invited for the position of Head at Felsted School, to succeed Chris Townsend after ten years of exceptional leadership.

Founded in 1564, Felsted School is a leading co-educational HMC boarding and day school, educating circa 1,000 students aged 4–18. Located in a picturesque rural village in North Essex, the School occupies a stunning 80-acre campus. Non-selective and home to a broad and diverse student body, Felsted prides itself on being a welcoming and grounded school community which plays to the interests and strengths of the individual. In recent years, Felsted has gone from strength to strength: celebrating 50 years of co-education in 2020 and being named ‘Boarding School of the Year’ at the 2023 TES Schools Awards.

Building on these successes, the next Head of Felsted will have whole school responsibility and will be an ambitious and driven leader, deeply committed to the School’s ethos and values. They will combine the qualities of a forward thinking educationalist with those of a strategic, commercially astute CEO, possessing strong financial acumen and business instincts.
