Working hours: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.00

John Lyon's Foundation is an educational foundation comprising three main members (Harrow School, John Lyon School and John Lyon's Charity) and seven connected entities (Harrow Association, Old Lyonian Association, Harrow School Enterprises Limited, Harrow Development Trust, The John Lyon Development Trust, Harrow International Schools Limited and Harrow Educational Investments Limited).

Based within Harrow School, the Foundation’s payrolls are run centrally by the Payroll Manager supported by the wider HR team. The successful candidate will join this friendly, well-established, supportive team and will work alongside the existing Payroll Manager in order to provide a comprehensive pay and benefits service.

The role: You will be responsible for The John Lyon School monthly payroll (approximately 200 employees), deputising for the Payroll Manager in their absence and supporting them in the effective end to end running of all Foundation payrolls. You will process all sickness absence, administer the pension salary sacrifice and benefits programmes across the Foundation and partner with the HR team to provide payroll reports and management information when required. The skills: This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of assisting with the end-to-end process of running payrolls successfully, who now wants to take more responsibility for their own small payroll. You will have a good standard of numeracy and literacy as well as a Level 4 CIPP payroll qualification or equivalent. Your knowledge of how payrolls interact with the work of HR and Accounts will be invaluable. Attention to detail is essential as you make salary, overtime and shift payment calculations and you will be comfortable working in a busy office using your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet deadlines. Using your strong written and verbal communication skills and tactful, discreet, approachable manner, you will build strong professional relationships throughout the Foundation.
