About the RoleWe’re looking for a dynamicDirector of Outdoor Education and Activitiesto lead and develop our thriving department. This is a unique opportunity to create unforgettable experiences for students, from skiing and climbing to water sports and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. You’ll set the strategic direction, ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, and champion outdoor education as a vital part of school life.
What You’ll Do- Drive the vision and long-term strategy for Outdoor Education and Activities.
- Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme (Silver and Gold).
- Lead and develop a skilled team, ensuring training and qualifications are up to date.
- Maintain facilities and equipment to the highest standards.
- Build partnerships to expand opportunities for students.
- Promote student leadership, wellbeing, and engagement through co-curricular initiatives.

Experience:
- Proven background in the outdoor industry and working with young people.
- Experience running Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes.

Qualifications:
- Mountain Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader Award.
- Duke of Edinburgh Supervisor and Assessor.
- Full clean driving licence (D1 or PCV desirable).
Additional outdoor qualifications (e.g., Rock climbing , paddlesport, snowsports, sailing, archery) are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
