  • Pocklington School
  • Full-time | Fixed Term

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Sports Coach to work with us for a one year residential placement which will include being part of our boarding community.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Sports Coach who has a passion for working with children aged 4 – 11. This is a one year residential placement (7th September 2026 to 9th July 2027) where you will work closely with our Sports Co-ordinator to deliver their departmental plan for Sport at the Prep School and be part of our boarding community.

You will be due to graduate in Summer 2026 (or have recently graduated) and be enthusiastic, well-organised and committed to enhancing sports participation and promoting enjoyment throughout our community. You will support the delivery of PE, Swimming lessons and Games (which includes leading teams in some of our main sports e.g. Rugby, Netball, Hockey, Football and Cricket) and contribute fully to our co-curricular Sports programme. Therefore, previous experience of playing or coaching any of our competitive sports would be advantageous.

You will have the opportunity to develop skills and experience in sports coaching and pastoral responsibilities which will be of particular benefit to anyone interested in pursuing a teaching or coaching career.

The post is residential and provides the opportunity to gain valuable pastoral experience by becoming part of our boarding community. You will assist with evening and weekend boarding duties, partly offset by time off during the week. You are not normally expected to work during the school holidays, although there may be the opportunity to be involved in supporting residential trips and sports tours.

In return you will benefit from structured support and coaching as well as the wider support of our friendly, collaborative Pocklington School Community which is located twelve miles to the East of York.

You will receive an annual salary of £18,103 as well as on-site accommodation and meals during term time.
