Attendance Administrator
St Helen and St Katharine has an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced, skilled, hands-on Executive Chef to lead our kitchen and continue the provision of excellent food at the School.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding administrator to join our friendly office team to support the smooth running of the School, maintain the student attendance register, be part of the reception team and provide administration assistance to the Senior Deputy Head.
Reporting to the School Administrative Lead, in this role you will oversee the completion of the registration process via iSAMS, picking up on any gaps and communicating daily with staff and parents regarding student absence. You will be aware of all the many activities going on in and out of School affecting student attendance e.g. trips, fixtures, illness, interviews and appointments, and will communicate with staff and parents to ensure attendance is captured accurately and efficiently.
In addition, as required, you will act as administration assistant to the Senior Deputy Head, as well as providing help with additional curriculum-based administrative tasks.
This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week during term-time plus 4 weeks during the School holidays, and we would like the successful candidate to start on 3 November, or earlier if available.
Main responsibilities
- Collate and check all registers and maintain the attendance register using the School’s management information system (iSAMS)
- Liaise with teaching staff, parents and other agencies regarding the attendance of students
- Be alert to information and insight which should be reported to the relevant member of the pastoral team to support student well-being
- Ensure up-to-date registration details are available in the event of an emergency or practice drill, with responsibility for taking up-to-date form lists to the evacuation assembly point
- Produce monthly registration reports and store relevant attendance documents in accordance with the data retention policy
- Follow registration processes in accordance with ISI compliance guidance
- Provide administrative assistance to the Senior Deputy Head when required
- Assist with the administration of curriculum-based tasks when required
- Support the smooth and efficient running of the School’s main office and Reception and provide a friendly and professional welcome for visitors
- Cover Reception during School holidays on a rota basis
- To be responsible for any other task identified by the line manager as falling reasonable within the scope and range of the position
